The popularity of a name refers to how popular the name is in the USA. In addition to the actual ranking of a name for each year, we also provide the average ranking of the name over the years starting from the year 2000. The average ranking is used to determine the popularity of a name. Girls and boys names are ranked separately. All USA data is courtesy of the Social Security Online, the official website of the US Social Security Administration.
